Connected Leadership
Lead with Ease.
When your leadership comes from a connection to you it is impactful and easy.
It is authentic. Confident. You connect and influence others with ease.
Ultimately, you’ll effortlessly bring your visions to life through others.
First, connect to you.
Knowing yourself is the foundation for connection. Self-awareness and a willingness to continue to know yourself is the most powerful starting point for growth. Accepting and embracing all of who you are, as you are – ironically – will supercharge your development.
Your ability to reflect and observe yourself accelerates your ability to change.
Connecting to who you are, what you think and how you feel: that is your connection to you. You have all the answers – if you are willing to connect with yourself.
As your connection to yourself grows, so too does your self-belief and safety to just be you. Your confidence becomes linked to who you inherently are rather than to your role, status or technical competency. You become confident in your natural skills and abilities, rather than what you know. This is true confidence.
When you are confident in yourself, others are drawn to your authenticity. It’s audacious. It’s inspiring. It glows.
Then, connect to others.
From a connection to you, comes an ability to be open and honest with others. To be vulnerable and share yourself, without fear. When you can accept yourself in your entirety – the good, bad and the ugly – you’ll be able to accept others as whole people too, and to be able to connect with them as they are.
This is rare and powerfully engaging leadership.
You’ll be able to share freely your feedback, observations and intuitions. You’ll be able to develop interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to remain connected in conflict; to be in conflict without fear and to embrace diversity and diverse perspectives.
With a strong connection to others, you’ll be able to listen to and deeply understand the perspectives of others and to synthesize views without agenda. Your relationships will be based on trust, honesty and respect.
Lead with a connection to your visions.
The point of leadership is not to lead: it is to go somewhere. To achieve something meaningful, together. Where you are going, matters.
When you are connected to you – you’ll know: where do I want to go? What do I want this to become? What am I trying to create?
When you are connected to this, your ability to articulate it and communicate it to others is strong.
You’ll create strategies and tactics that support the vision with ease and say no to anything that doesn’t support achievement of your visions.
“To form meaningful connections with others, we must first connect with ourselves.”
